The Jasminum humile ‘Revolutum’ is a member of the Oleaceae family and is native to southwestern China and from Afghanistan to the Himalayas. The Jasminum humile ‘Revolutum’ is commonly named Italian jasmine or yellow jasmine.

The Italian jasmine prefers a sheltered spot in full sun or partial shade in well-drained, fertile soil. Moist soil is best but the Jasminum humile ‘Revolutum’ tolerates dry conditions as well.

The Jasminum humile ‘Revolutum’ can be grown as a free-standing, arching shrub that can grow about 2.5 metres (8 feet) wide. You can also train it up a support against a wall or fence. It can be cut back after bloom if you want to reduce its size.

In very mild winters this plant is evergreen, but will lose its foliage at -10 ºC (14 ºF) or colder.

The small, bright yellow flowers are fragrant. The more sun the more flowers will develop and the more fragrant they will be. After bloom little black berries are formed in the autumn. It is mainly a green shrub that I use to add green to the quite bare canes of my climbing rose. It is an easy-care, shrub that requires little work and is resistant to the usual pests and diseases.

You can easily propagate the Jasminum humile ‘Revolutum’ by cuttings.
