Read the text in the category Hostas for general information about Hostas.
The Hosta ‘Sizzle’ is a sport from an ‘Atom Smasher’ seedling. It is a small Hosta with narrow leaves that are light green with a dark green margin in spring. During the year the leaf centres turn yellow. The leaves reach a height of about 15 cm (6 inches). In the summer the non-fragrant lilac flowers grow on 30 cm (12 inches) high stems. The growth speed is average and the Hosta ‘Sizzle’ grows well in total shade.
In my garden the leaves start appearing at the end of February/ beginning of March.
